Detective Lieutenant Saronna Jones is head of the Autumn Bay Police Department Gang Taskforce. While she nominally reports to Captain Karen Thompson at the 11th Precinct, she is often found in whatever precinct she is most needed at to coordinate intelligence and training.

Upon becoming a detective, she served in Vice alongside Paige Logan. Shortly after Detective Logan transferred to Homicide, Detective Jones transferred to the Gang Task Force. It didn't take long before she found herself leading the unit, at the behest of Chief of Police Thomas Winter.

Unlike most cities, the Gang Task Force does not exist to eliminate the gangs, as many of them are mainly community watchdogs and work with police when necessary. They mainly ensure that none of the gangs become overly violent or criminal, and to keep the so-called "Underworld Pact" (which allows the gangs to operate as they do).

Saronna has no children of her own, having devoted her life to her career, but has a tendency to spoil her niece, Jasmine.

Rumor has it that Detective Lieutenant Jones maintains a file containing all the dirtiest and, possibly, paranormal secrets of the various gangs...

Autumn Bay is built on those connections...

Seriously. There are ways to connect any two characters, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon style.
